The Summer Solstice has passed which means that while it’s felt like it for months, summer is OFFICIALLY here! Since I’m not in school anymore, the summer vacation nostalgia is real. So I’ve decided to jet out of NYC in August for a few months of exploring new destinations abroad, meeting incredible travelers along the way and spontaneous adventures with SkyHi. Here are the top places that have my wanderlust on overdrive for summer.

Montreal

A French city in North America? Yes, please! There’s the Basilique Notre-Dame and the beauty of Old Montreal against the St. Lawrence River. Sold. The art and music scene has been raved about lately, and with the entire country celebrating their 150 birthday, it seems like a natural choice to head to.

San Francisco

Okay, so I’ve been here before, but summer is an entirely different vibe for SF. I’d love the chance to head out on some day hikes or tour a few vineyards in nearby Sonoma. Save a few of those wine bottles for a picnic under the Golden Gate Bridge or at Dolores Park — sounds like a perfect day!

Vienna

This city is full of history and charm. From palaces to museums to churches, I can’t go wrong unwinding in this architectural wonder. Exploring the classic Gothic masterpiece Stephansdom would be the perfect afternoon activity to walk off a filling lunch of Wiener Schnitzel.

Chicago

Umm, deep dish pizza anyone? Chicago in the summer is one of the best places to visit. Boating on Lake Michigan or playing some beach volleyball on the waterfront. Aside from the obvious pizza, the culinary scene just keeps getting better and better every time I visit.

Berlin

This would be another new destination for me to get lost in. I’ve seen parts of the Berlin Wall in museums, but it would be such a humbling experience to see it where it once stood. Since Germany is entirely new for me, I could start in Berlin and make my way to Munich in time for Oktoberfest.

Reykjavik

Iceland is so hot right now :) sorry that was bad. I couldn’t help myself. This vibrant city is nestled into the mountains, so it’ll be a nice change of scenery. Plus with the outdoor destinations like the Blue Lagoon just a quick 45-minute trip from downtown, I’ll be able to explore to my heart’s content!

Stockholm

Since the sun never seems to set in Sweden during the summer, it’s the ultimate time to hit the cobbled streets of Stockholm for full days of exploring. The city is actually made up of a bunch of islands, so it’s kinda like New York City. Plus it’s a super cycle-friendly city which I’ve ranted about before is my favorite thing to do in a new city.

Wow! I can’t wait to start flying and exploring! You can join me this summer to by signing up to be a SkyHi’s early member. With fixed pricing and one-click booking, SkyHi is the easiest way to fly to 30 cities across America, Canada, and Europe.
